My first impressions of the module were that I would enjoy it greatly. I particularly enjoyed the start of sessions when we talked about current news events and shared our thoughts on the topics. Mark always shared an interest in us and what we were up too and explained information extremely well.

I learned a lot from my pitch when I received the feedback that my pitch could change and evolve into many different things. This gives me the idea to change my blog in the future to mainly music based. I also received feedback that I could include not just musicians as a target audience but, producers, sound engineers and those that work in music venues.

My comment on the blog was that the questions that the class asked, helped me think of how to develop my blog and more content to put in it. I also commented that I believed my delivery was confident, but I needed to think of more problems that could arise to my blog.

My mock blog feedback helped me change my blog site from Wordpress to Wix. I saw other classmates’ blogs and Wix and believed they looked very neat, clean and much more appealing to the eye. Wordpress I think also has a big learning curve which I didn’t believe I had time for when Wix was so simple to use.

One of the skills this module helped me develop was my skills in presenting. By going into groups and brainstorming what makes a good presentation and a bad presentation. We then shared as a class and expanded what these things were and what we can do to avoid the bad things and change these into the good. I have also learned how to make a blog and what makes a good blog. I had no previous experiences with digital content such as blogs and have ended up with good knowledge on how to create one using different blogging sites. I look forward to developing more of these skills in the years following at university.

In hindsight I would have liked to try Wordpress a bit more. After seeing other people’s blogs, I immediately changed to Wix without going back to try Wordpress and learning more about it. Trying other blogging sites as well would have been something I would have tried going back to see if any suited me or my blog more than Wix.
